Family weekend continued
Family weekend ended up great. We had to get creative and find ways to beat the heat considering all week it had been 105-115 heat index and it did not let up for the weekend. We kept the activites indoors. Made cookies and decorated them, had a dance party, made homemade ice cream, and watched a great movie!
We even braved Costco on a Saturday (never again) That place is a madhouse on Sat. We made it out with our new ice cream machine. The ice cream turned out amazing but we have some tweeknig to do on our recipe.

Florida- Sam's Crab
I was swimming in the ocean and looked down and thought "wow that is a perfect shell" I picked it up and started walking towards the shore to give it to Sam. I looked down and about jumped out of my suit when I saw legs emerge from the shell. It was a live crab!!!!! Sam and Kate were in heaven. They made friends with Madelyn, Sarah, and two other kids who I cant think of their names. The crab provided hours of entertainment for the kids!
Playing around with flip video and my new laptop
This video is from last summer at the pool. I'm just messing around trying to save all my data to discs and see how to dowload to the blog!!

Family Weekend/ Family Pizza Night
This weekend we decided to do an all Family weekend!! Back when Sam was 2 1/2 We went to Puccinis every friday night and followed with some ice cream. We thought we would start the weekend with a little dinner at puccinis. We had a great time. We skipped the ice cream, but we may add that later as we find that the kids can behave! Not sure what is instore for the rest of "family weekend" but I will be sure to take some pics!

Knee High by 4th of July
Well I'm so excited to say I'm back in business! I have a new laptop, therefore, I"ll be able to post much faster and more easily.
With this title, our family voted that the corn was not knee high by the forth of July, however, it has taken me so long to post this......I now believe the corn may be head high or above our heads.
In my eyes 4th of July is the marker of all summer memories. Just to name a few:
Popsicles
lightning bugs
staying up late
swimming
sweating
bare feet
ice cream cones
(adults) cold beer
tank tops and cut offs
bike rides
sprinklers
Pool on the deck!!!! WHY didn't I think of this last summer!!

Vacation- Family Tradition?
I remember when I was a kid every 4th of July, which I waited patiently all year for this day to come, we took a family trip to Kings Island. I loved the rides, the food, the fireworks, running around the hotel with my cousins. The pizza we would eat at night at the arcade and indoor pool. The memories flood my head and I think of them so often with delight.
My intentions are to find a place where we can visit annually and my kids can get that same excited feeling of anticipation all year for our annual family vacation. Since Kate has been born we tried South Haven, Michigan the last two years. This year we decided to face or fears and try a longer drive to Panama City, Florida. Next year I'd like to try somewhere in the Carolinas now that we know we can conquer the drive. I want to find that place that we fall in love with and turn into our family tradition.
