Our Little Angels

All we ever want is for our kids to act like angels. At the age of two you never really get that lucky. However, there are those moments when you look at them (usually when they are asleep) and think they look like little angels. Normally that is when you wish you had a camera to capture the momemt. I was lucky enough to have mine handy this day. Watching her play quietly and in my opinion she just looked like a little angel. :-)

Sam is going to be a big sister!!

Exciting news! Sam is so excited to be a big sister. She talks about it all the time. We have kept quiet about it until the appointment today. I'm 12.5 weeks today and they did an ultrasound. Eveything looked good and the baby is healthy. They even gave us their best guess on the sex. Although they are not 100% sure they think it is another girl. Yes, another drama queen. As you can see in the picture I posted over to the right the baby is waving. Five fingers so that is good news. I'll keep everyone posted as I know more on the progress. The morning sickness is over, I know things are healthy, and finally I can get excited. :-)

Last weekend we got together with all of Sam's friends for the Ohio State Game. She is sitting with (starting left) Kayla, Taylor, Wilson, Carson, and Sam!

I love when she sings this song. So cute! Usually she sings it much better than what I was able to get on film, but as you can see she was preoccupied.

Also, Sam wanted to thank Mimi and Grandad for the card and money to get ice cream. She used her money on Friday night for ice cream with gummy bears and sprinkles. How it pays off to be a big girl. Thank you Aunt Linda for the adoreable halloween outfits. Last but not least thank you Grandma for the pink flamingo from Florida.

We are excited to report that Sam is officially a "BIG GIRL" She took nap in her bed today for the first time and Mommy and Daddy could not be happier. The transition has not been nearly as bad as we had expected.

Rainy Days and our little Colts Fan

Sam was sitting out on the back deck in the rain. I kept telling her to come in because she was going to get all wet. She would say, but mommy I have my rain boots on. Apparently she thought if she had her rain boots on that she would stay dry. Yes she is cleaning the ground with a sponge and spray bottle. haha

All ready for Colts day at school. She said all the way to school today that she did not want to wear her Colts jersey. I think she is a fair weather fan kind of like her parents.

Update on the big girl bed

I am happy to report that the last two nights Sam has done great in her bed going down at 8:30 and did not wake up Wednesday morning until 7:30 and this morning I had to wake her up.

On a funny note. Sam's new best buddy is Felix. She wants to hold him all the time and he will even sit next to her for a period of time and let her pet him. Last night she was hanging out with Felix and she said "I love Felix he is my buddy and Morgan is ridiculous." hahaha I'm not sure where she picked up that new word. I'll have to post a picture of her holding her new buddy.

SAM HAD SOME BIG CHANGES OVER THE HOLIDAY!

Sam's school was closed on Friday so she had a 4 day weekend. We have been telling her if she throws away her passy she can get a big girl bed. Sunday morning to our surprise she woke up and said she wanted to throw away her passy for a big girl bed. She marched over to the trash can and threw it away with no hesitation. Hallelujah!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! We spend the first party of the day running around and getting the things we needed to set up the bed. She was so excited and proud of her new bed, but then came the fun part. Naptime!! She liked laying in her bed but wanted nothing to do with a nap. We gave up on that after about an hour and a half. Then that evening Zane and I got very nervous and we were really regretting that we did this. Again to our surprise she went down without a fight and did not make a peep until 7:30 am. Monday nap was a disaster again. Better but still no nap. She laid up in her bed singing songs and rolling around. She went down pretty well on Monday night but decided to wake up at 5:45 am. It was still dark out and she wanted to go back to bed by the time we were ready to go to school. The most amazing part is that she has not cried for or asked for passy once!! I will update more later. Hopefully she is getting the hang of this.

Sam was at the water park and decided to pick up a bee. Of course it stung her and the stinger was still in her thumb. She was quite a trooper she didn't cry much at all.

What has Sam been up to Lately?

Where do I begin? It has been so long since I have updated with pictures. To start Sam is definitely keeping us busy. She has been to the zoo, playing outside, and I took some pictures of the cool hair doo her teacher did for her. Also, I have some exciting news! My cousin Jennifer just got engaged last weekend. She has been like my sister/best friend growing up and we are all so happy for her!!!

She would never let me touch her hair but she let miss Katie do it. How cool!

Boats

I haven't had a chance to get pictures posted but I will soon. Sam went to the zoo last weekend so I need to get those up. On a funny note laughing at Sam when she says "get your stinking boat out of the drive way" has definitely backfired on us. We have taken a couple of walks and 2 other people in our neighborhood have boats in their driveways. Well sure enough exactly what I was afraid would happen, happened! We are walking along and all of the sudden she screams it out. I about melted into the sidewalk, but luckily no one was outside so we got very lucky. She has added more to her phrase. She now says: "get your stinking boat out of the driveway now people!" Pictures to come in the next couple of days.

Sam went to the state fair this past Sunday with Mommy, Daddy, Grandma, and Grandpa Ken. She loved looking at all of the animals and got to see a baby chick hatching from its egg. She said her favorite thing was going down the big big big big slide with Daddy.

As you can see Sam had a great weekend it all started on Friday when we went to a pizza place for dinner. She was being so good, we were thinking this might be a new thing. She wants to get out of the highchair and she is standing there with this look on her face. Fear went through my body I knew what she had done. I look on the floor and there is a puddle of pee. She had gone potty in her pants. She is usually so good about telling us when she has to go but that night as she always tells us "accidents happen." Zane was absolutely mortified, but I know that is not the last time something like that will happen. :-) Saturday she went to her friend Wilson's birthday party. They had a huge bouncy house which you can kind of see her in. I'm not sure who had more fun in it Zane or Sam. They also had a slip and slide which she loved too. Sunday after a long weekend Sam sat quietly doing her baby's hair for almost half of the day. I was shocked that she sat quietly and did something for so long.
